The Art of the Patola
Our Craftsmanship Process
Planning the Design
We carefully mark out the pattern on the silk threads and use a special tie-dye method to create the colors. Each thread is wrapped individually so the colors stay exactly where they belong.
Setting the Threads
We line up the dyed threads on the loom with extreme care. This is a very important step to make sure the patterns match up perfectly when they are woven together.
Hand-Weaving
Our skilled weavers use traditional hand-looms to weave the fabric one thread at a time. It is a slow, steady process that turns simple silk into a beautiful, wearable piece of art.
Final Quality Check
Once the saree is finished, we check it closely to make sure the pattern is sharp and the fabric is perfect. We only pick the best pieces that meet our high standards to send to you.
